When you join the Fusion Fashion Tech Society, you join a community dedicated to protecting the future of our environment, climate, and its people. This community is designed for the Gen Z creators seeking a better future for themselves and their families.
- We help students from underrepresented communities that want to work in the fashion, textile, and creative technologies sector gain access to the people, resources, education, and opportunities to make their dreams a reality.
- Our members engage in expert-led mentorship, in-person and online, covering topics like slow fashion, material innovation, textile-to-textile manufacturing, biomimicry, AI, blockchain, AR, Digital Twins, and virtual worlds.
- Our global professional and expert-led community is comprised of individuals who have dedicated time to fostering a more sustainable, ethical, and inclusive industry, prioritizing the well-being of the people involved.
- Members can have the opportunity to present their work at our bi-annual Fusion Fashion Tech Summit, showcasing their ideas and innovations to the wider community.

Who Can Apply?
- The Fusion Fashion Tech Society welcomes applications from high school juniors and seniors, as well as undergraduate and graduate students, who are passionate about driving positive change in the fashion and apparel industry. Our application process is designed to identify talented, purpose-driven individuals who are eager to contribute to one or more of our three core pillars: slow fashion innovation, inclusive tech empowerment, and human-centric design.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Alignment with the Fusion Fashion Tech Society's mission and pillars
- Demonstrated passion, knowledge, and/or experience in the fashion industry's sustainability, technology, or social impact
- Potential to contribute meaningful projects, ideas, and leadership to the society
- Diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and skillsets within the applicant pool

How To Apply?
- Complete the below application form in its entirety. Incomplete applications will automatically be disqualified.
- Provide a Google Doc link to your compelling personal statement of interest (500 words or less).
- Outline a 4-month project or initiative that you would like to launch that aligns with our three pillars:
- Provide a Google Doc link to a PDF version of your Resume or CV (for high school students, a list of relevant extracurricular activities and achievements is acceptable)
- Optional: Portfolio of relevant design work, research projects, or entrepreneurial ventures
Membership Benefits
Selected students, including high school juniors and seniors, will become members of the Fusion Fashion Tech Society and gain access to the following:

What We Learned
The Society Project
As the culmination of their membership, all Fusion Fashion Tech Society cohorts will be required to develop and present a final project showcasing their contributions to one or more of the society's three core pillars: slow fashion innovation, inclusive tech empowerment, and human-centric design.
Final Project Proposal
- Detailed description of the project goals, scope, and anticipated outcome
- Due 2 months before final presentation
Success is in the Details
- Outline of the roles and responsibilities of each team member
- Include Timeline and milestones for project completion
- Budget and resource requirements (if applicable)
Pay it Forward
- 30-minute presentation highlighting the project's key features, achievements, goals, research, and impact
- Demonstration of any prototypes, products, or initiatives developed
- Reflection on the team's learning experience and how the project aligns with the society's mission
- Q&A session with the audience of fellow members, industry experts, and society leadership
Evaluation and Certification
- Each final project presentation will be evaluated by a rotating panel of judges consisting of Fusion Fashion Tech Society community members, industry professionals, and subject matter experts. The projects will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Alignment with the society's mission and pillars
- Innovation, creativity, and potential for real-world impact
- Demonstration of relevant skills and knowledge (e.g., sustainable design, fashion tech, human-centric design)
- Effective collaboration and leadership within the project team
- Quality of the final presentation and project deliverables
Upon successful completion of the final project presentation, students will receive a Fusion Fashion Tech Society Certificate of Completion, recognizing their achievements and contributions to the society's mission. This certificate can serve as a valuable credential for their future academic and professional pursuits in the fashion sustainability and innovation sector. The winning group will also have the opportunity to attend and present at the Fusion Fashion Tech Summit during Climate Week NYC 2025.
